NELFUND Boosts Students’ Welfare with July Stipends: Over 20,000 Beneficiaries in Six Institutions

In a significant stride towards enhancing student welfare, the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has successfully disbursed N20,000 monthly stipends for July to 20,371 students across six tertiary institutions. This development marks a crucial milestone in NELFUND’s ongoing efforts to support students financially.

The benefiting institutions include:

  • Bayero University Kano
  • Federal University, Dutsin-Ma
  • University of Ilorin
  • University of Benin
  • University of Ibadan
  • University of Maiduguri

Students from these universities who have already had their institutional fees covered by NELFUND were the first to receive the much-needed stipends. The initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden on students, ensuring they can focus more on their studies without the distraction of financial worries.

A representative from NELFUND stated, “We are committed to supporting our students in every possible way. This stipend is just one of the many steps we are taking to ensure that students across Nigeria have the financial backing they need to excel in their academic pursuits.”

NELFUND’s efforts are not limited to these six institutions. The organization is diligently working to extend this support to students from approximately 55 additional tertiary institutions. This expansive reach underscores NELFUND’s dedication to broadening its impact and making a meaningful difference in the lives of students nationwide.

Students from the aforementioned institutions have expressed immense gratitude for the timely support. A student from the University of Ilorin remarked, “This stipend has been a huge relief for me and my family. It allows me to concentrate on my studies without constantly worrying about financial constraints.”

As NELFUND continues to expand its support network, the organization remains focused on its mission to foster an environment where education is accessible and affordable for all Nigerian students. The successful disbursement of the July stipends is a testament to NELFUND’s commitment to this cause, paving the way for a brighter, more secure academic future for students across the country.
