In a heartbreaking turn of events, Nassarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), was rocked by tragedy as two students lost their lives and 17 others sustained injuries during a stampede for palliatives. The incident occurred on the morning of Friday, March 22nd, 2024, casting a shadow over the state’s efforts to provide relief to its students amidst economic hardships and soaring inflation.

The state government, led by Governor Sule Abdullahi, had initiated the distribution of rice and monetary aid of five thousand naira as part of palliatives across various tertiary institutions in Nassarawa State.
