About the 2026 Bellagio Center Residency Program

Bellagio Center Residency Program

The Bellagio Center Residency Program provides a unique opportunity for individuals from diverse fields to collaborate on innovative solutions to pressing global challenges. Each year, the Rockefeller Foundation selects approximately 100 participants from around the world, including artists, economists, poets, astrophysicists, and experts from various fields.

The program fosters interdisciplinary collaboration to create meaningful impact. Residents will stay at the Bellagio Center in Italy, surrounded by the stunning views of Lake Como, where they can engage in deep reflection and exchange ideas with global thought leaders.

2026 Residency Program Themes

While open to all leaders, the program has a special interest in applicants working on the following themes:
Food is Medicine – Access to affordable medicine for good health
Artificial Intelligence & UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Women, Girls, and Climate
Migration and Climate
Water and Climate
Energy Systems and Climate
Health Systems and Climate
Food Systems and Climate
Climate Finance

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the 2026 Bellagio Center Residency Program, applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Have proficiency in English.
  • Submit all application materials in English.
  • Confirm full availability for the four-week residency.
  • If selected as a finalist, provide two letters of reference.

Program Benefits

The Rockefeller Foundation covers:
Travel funding
Accommodation at the Bellagio Center
Full board (meals and living expenses)
A private studio for work
Four-week residency at Lake Como, Italy
