The Federal Ministry of Education extends heartfelt congratulations to Aare Afe Babalola, SAN, the Founder and Chancellor of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), along with the institution’s dedicated academic and non-academic staff for achieving recent global recognition.

Dr. Olatunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, expressed his admiration for ABUAD’s impressive ranking among the top 100 universities worldwide.  

In the latest Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for 2025, ABUAD has marked a historic achievement by securing the 84th position globally, the 3rd position in Africa, and retaining its status as the top university in Nigeria for the fourth consecutive year, from 2022 to 2025.

Folasade Boriowo, Director of Press and Public Relations, shared a statement on Saturday where Dr. Alausa commended Aare Afe Babalola for his unwavering commitment to educational excellence and national progress in a letter he sent.

“The achievement represents not just a personal victory but a milestone for the nation. It is truly inspiring to see your decade-long dream come to fruition, a dream you once shared with former Chief Justice Hon. Justice Tanko Mohammed,” the Minister remarked.He also praised the collaborative efforts of the entire academic and non-academic staff at ABUAD. 

“This global ranking is a testament to the dedication and relentless pursuit of excellence exhibited by ABUAD staff,” stated Alausa. “You have shown that with the right vision, passion, and professionalism, Nigerian institutions can thrive on the global stage.”

The Ministry highlighted this exceptional global ranking as not merely a moment for celebration but a renewed call to action for both ABUAD and the wider Nigerian education sector.

“This achievement should serve as a catalyst, inspiring a deeper commitment to quality and globally competitive education,” Dr. Alausa noted.

Reaffirming its support for forward-thinking institutions like ABUAD, the Ministry is eager to collaborate further in promoting educational innovation, research, and sustainable development across Nigeria.
