The SOAS University of London is now accepting applications for the 2026 CAMHRA Scholarship, open to both UK and international students.
This prestigious scholarship provides a full tuition fee award for outstanding candidates seeking to pursue postgraduate study and research in the anthropology of mental health.
📌 Eligibility Criteria
To be considered, applicants must:
- Be UK or international (overseas) applicants
- Hold a minimum of a 2:1 Bachelor’s degree in:
- Social Sciences or Humanities
- OR Health-related fields such as Medicine, Psychology, Nursing, or Social Work (for MA Medical Anthropology and Mental Health)
- For MRes Social Anthropology:
- Possess at least a 2:1 Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree
- Applicants without an anthropology background must already hold a Master’s in another field
- Demonstrate a strong research proposal using ethnographic methods focused on mental health
- Have submitted an application to either the MA or MRes programme at SOAS
(Note: An admission offer is not required before the scholarship deadline)
