In Okada, Nigeria, the first private university was founded in 1999. Igbinedion University was its name. Since then, the Tertiary Education industry in Nigeria has essentially been taken over by private educators and investors.

However, as a result of the nation’s economic reality, the cost of operating these private institutions is rising dramatically. It’s understandable that private institutions in Nigeria have recently become highly pricey. However, the cost of high-quality education is prohibitive everywhere in the globe.

Some of these private institutions in Nigeria provide students a quality education that prepares them to compete with students from other climes, in contrast to state universities in Nigeria that have recently grown somewhat pricey as well.Here is a list of some of Nigeria’s priciest universities in 2022. Interestingly, a few of the institutions on this list will be among Nigeria’s top universities in 2022.

 

#1. Nile University

Nile is based in Abuja and was founded in 2009. Nile had three faculties when they first began (Arts & Social Sciences, Engineering, and Natural & Applied Sciences). Nile University in Nigeria now includes six faculties and more than 4,000 students. Currently, Nile offers 43 postgraduate degrees in addition to 33 undergraduate programs.

#2. Baze University, Abuja

One of the privately run institutions in Abuja, Nigeria, that provides top-notch instruction to students is Baze University. On the Jabi Airport Road Bypass Ring Road, the main campus is located 6 kilometers from Abuja’s Central Area. In order to continue development, Baze has another location at Bwari. The Federal Government of Nigeria has given its approval to Lead City University, Ibadan (LCU), a private university. There have been nine sets of graduates. Programs are provided by faculties with expertise in law, information technology and applied sciences, and social sciences and entrepreneurial studies.
